Retirement Income Specialist

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, with a major in Economics from Cornell University in 1971, Vars served four years in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain. His career in finance began in 1977 leading him  on a path that lead to joining Janney in 1989. He attained the Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) designation in 1991, followed by the Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM (AWMA®) designation and The Certified Long Term Care (CLTC) designation. Active in the local Rotary, Club, Vars’ leisure hours focus on vintage car collecting, gardening, the sport of Fencing, and reading investment treatises from the past that help hone his competitive edge for the future. He and his wife, Nancy, reside in Camillus, New York. Their daughter, Carla, lives in Los Gatos, California with her 7-year-old daughter, Lorelie.  Their son, Steve, lives in Cary, North Carolina with his wife, Lauren and children Alex.and Nora.


Jason R. Holowinski, AWMA®

First Vice-President / Wealth Management

Jason began his career in finance in New York City after graduating from Hobart and William Smith College with a Bachelors degree in Economics. He moved back to Central New York in 1995 to work with A.G. Edwards and Co. In 2008, when A.G. Edwards was absorbed by a bank, he conducted an extensive search to enhance his abilities to serve his clients and joined Janney. With his FINRA Series 7, 63 and 66 licenses he has the ability to help clients across the entire spectrum of investing. He achieved the Accredited Wealth ManagementSM(AWMA®) designation in February 2017.  He is also licensed for life, health and long term care insurance to ensure clients are protected against risks that could possibly decimate their investment portfolios. He is active in the Hobart Alumni Association and is a member of Bellevue Country Club. Jason’s hobbies include traveling, hiking in the Adirondacks, scuba diving and golf. He, his wife, JoEllen, and three children, Olivia, Aubry and Lucas, live in the Town of Onondaga.


Elizabeth A. Gunnip
Private Client Assistant

Liz serves as a Private Client Assistant, putting her expertise to use handling client requests, answering questions and aiding in portfolio preparation and reviews. Prior to joining Janney in 2008, Liz worked at Morgan Stanley and A.G. Edwards. She graduated from Onondaga Community College with an Associates Degree in business. She holds  FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and is a Notary Public. In the community, Liz serves as the girls’ basketball and soccer coach for Jordan Elbridge Youth Recreation. She enjoys competing in Sprint Triathlons. Liz and her husband, Jim, have two children, Jordan and Gabrielle and reside in Elbridge, New York.

Mark D. Luschini
Chief Investment Strategist, Janney Montgomery Scott LLC
President and Chief Investment Officer, Janney Capital Management

Mark Luschini serves as the Chief Investment Strategist for Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, leading the Investment Strategy Group. In that capacity Mark is responsible for establishing the firm’s broad outlook relating to conditions in the capital markets and the economy and to develop investment strategies best suited to satisfy the goals and objectives of individual and institutional clients. He also establishes the firm’s asset allocation models used for portfolio construction and financial planning. Additionally, Mark directs Janney Capital Management, the firm’s discretionary investment management division.

Under his leadership, Janney Capital Management has delivered competitive investment results across multiple strategies. The total assets under management has grown to more than $3.5 billion, with more than $2 billion in traditional equity and fixed income assets, and over $1 billion in various strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies utilizing exchange-traded products and mutual funds.

Mark served on the Board of Managers for Janney, and currently serves as a Trustee for the firm’s Pension & Profit Sharing Plan. He is a member of the Janney Wealth Management Department’s Mutual Fund and Alternative Investment Committees. In Janney Capital Management, Mark chairs the Investment Committee which sets asset class and sector policy and directly participates in managing the equity, fixed income and asset allocation strategies under its advisory.

Mr. Luschini has spent more than 25 years in the investment industry, interfacing with both current and prospective clients. He utilizes that experience to speak on topics related to investment planning and asset management at seminars and conferences. His comments and written articles have been circulated in numerous publications, ranging from the New York Times, Barron’s, USA Today, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Money magazine, and Worth. He has appeared in various television and radio media outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg Television, CNN, Fox Business News, and the Nightly Business Report.

Dan Wantrobski, CMT
Managing Director, Director of Research

Dan Wantrobski is Director of Research at Janney Montgomery Scott and has over 20 years of industry experience as a technical analyst and strategist. Mr. Wantrobski spent the first 10 years of his career at Paine Webber and UBS, where he developed his expertise as a technician and macro strategist following the equity, fixed income, commodity, and currency markets. He has also spent time at Fox Pitt Kelton, Bedford Quantitative, and New Albion Partners.From 2008 to 2016, Mr. Wantrobski served as Janney’s technical strategist.

Mr. Wantrobski regularly comments in the media on key issues arising in the industry, with appearances in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, The Philadelphia Inquirer, CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg TV. He is also a frequent speaker at financial industry conferences, including the Ernst & Young Annual Firm Conference where he has served as a guest speaker for the last five years.

Mr. Wantrobski is a Chartered Market Technician and attended Villanova University, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Finance.

He currently resides in Moorestown, NJ where he volunteers as a firefighter with Relief Engine Co. 312.


Greg Drahuschak
Market Strategist

Mr. Drahuschak joined Janney in 1991. He has over 35 years of economic experience and provides daily, weekly and monthly market commentary to Janney and our clients. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked as a retail broker with—and eventually transitioned into the research departments of —Butcher & Singer and Wheat First Securities. He was also an instructor at Robert Morris College and the University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Drahuschak has written articles for several newspapers and websites, and has been the visiting expert on many live radio broadcasts. He earned his B.A. in fine arts from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, as well as certificates from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and from the New York Institute of Finance.


Guy LeBas
Chief Fixed Income Strategist

Mr. LeBas joined Janney in 2006 and is a Managing Director and the Firm’s Chief Fixed Income Strategist. He is responsible for overseeing Janney’s Fixed Income Strategy & Research (FISR) group, a team charged with providing insight into the bond markets across four verticals: Economic & Interest Rate Strategy, Credit Research, Municipal Research, and the Balance Sheet Strategies Group. Mr. LeBas and the FISR team author in-depth economic and bond market periodicals and providing provides relative value recommendations across the fixed income spectrum. In addition, FISR works closely with Financial Advisors in providing customized investment strategies for a range of institutional and high-net-worth clients. Mr. LeBas is also a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and Fox Business News as well as a regular speaker at financial industry conferences. He has been named among the “Bloomberg Best” for economic and bond market forecasting.

Prior to joining Janney, Mr. LeBas served as Interest Rate Risk Manager for U.S. Trust’s bank asset and liability portfolios, a role in which he oversaw risk and return on an $11 billion balance sheet. He received his education from Swarthmore College and is a CFA Charterholder.



Christopher Haidinger, CFP®
FVP, Director, High Net Worth Planning Group

Chris Haidinger is a Certified Financial Planner™ and serves as First Vice President and Director of Janney’s High Net Worth Planning Group, part of the Firm’s Wealth Planning Department. Mr. Haidinger has been associated with Janney for over 27 years, creating investment and tax planning strategies for private and institutional clients, businesses and credit unions in an effort to maximize the productivity of their assets. As part of his responsibilities, he provides technical expertise and formulates financial plans describing financial, tax, investment and estate planning strategies for Financial Consultants and clients of the Firm.

Mr. Haidinger has conducted numerous public and private seminars, has provided individual counseling for employees facing retirement and career changes at many local companies, such as: Merck, Atlantic City Electric, Martin Marietta, Scott Paper and Mobil Oil . He has also consulted on investments with the Mobil Federal Credit Union. Barrons Magazine featured Mr. Haidinger in an article on “Tax Planning Strategies for Professionals”.

Mr. Haidinger is currently a member in good standing with International Board of Standards and Practices for Certified Financial Planners™, the Delaware Valley Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners™ and the International Association of Certified Financial Planners™. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Susquehanna University, and is a graduate of the SII (Securities Industry Institute) Program at the Wharton School of Business.

Michael Repak, CPA/PFS, JD, LLM
Vice President, Senior Estate Planner


Michael Repak is a Vice President / Senior Estate Planner with Janney Montgomery Scott LLC. He is a key resource with Firm’s Wealth Management Department based in the Philadelphia, PA headquarters. He provides assistance in all aspects of financial, tax, and estate planning issues to Janney’s Financial Advisors and their clients.

Prior to joining Janney, Mr. Repak had a solo law practice concentrating in elder law and estate planning. Previously he was a Senior Tax Manager at KPMG. He has also held a similar position at Arthur Andersen LLP where he was responsible for that firm’s Human Capital Consulting practice in Philadelphia. He was with Andersen in New York City for several years where his clients included high net worth individuals and multi-national corporations. He has also held executive positions with Estee Lauder, Inc. before and after its IPO, and worked on matters pertaining to the company, the founding family and key executive compensation arrangements for employees in the US and abroad.

Mr. Repak earned his Bachelor’s degree from William Patterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, and has a Master’s degree University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. He has a CPA/PFS credential, and Series 7 and 66 securities licenses. He received his J.D. from the University of Florida and his LL.M. in Tax Law from NYU. He has been an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Temple University and is a frequently sought-after speaker for professional conferences and events. He is also frequently featured as a Money Doctor on, the public education site of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Repak has served on several non-profit and civic boards, is a graduate of Leadership Philadelphia and is a member of the Union League of Philadelphia.
